The last few weeks has spawned an impressive population of Stick Insects. They have ranged in sizes from 6″ to 10″, in various shades of green to gray-brown. Some of them look amazingly more like twigs than insects. They are very docile and trusting, but apparently also, quite fragile. After reaching full size, they seem to die off in a short few days. I’m not sure if this one (captured in poor lighting with flash), was trying to figure out how to get a sip from the outdoor drinking fountain, or simply amused with his concave distorted reflection.
