Come to Old Congress Days!

Come to Congress this weekend for a really good time! In keeping with the heritage of Congress’ mining and ranching, the theme for this year is “Reclaiming the Heart of Congress.”

Old Congress Days was established in 1976 by the Moralez and McMillin families of Congress and is being continued by local residents Loretta Moralez, Kit Exum, Jane Summers, and Lynn Tullos.

Sikorsky Sky-Crane Passes through Wickenburg

What excitement! A Sikorsky S-64 Sky-Crane stopped at Wickenburg for fuel today on its way to Tucson.

The helicopter, painted bright orange and carrying a crew of three and firefighting equipment, landed at Wickenburg Municipal Airport just after 10 AM on Sunday morning. It had flown directly to Wickenburg from its last refueling stop at Bullhead City on the Colorado River near Laughlin, NV.

Robson's Mining World Anniversary Celebration

It’s lots of fun for the folks who climb on board with me and I get a real kick out of taking so many people for their first-ever helicopter ride.

After all, what’s not to like? With more listeners, his radio shows and advertisers get more exposure.

Live streaming audio on the Internet isn’t new at all, but there were a few minor technological hurdles we needed to jump before we could get it all set up. My schedule kept me busy, but the podcast (refer to “Old News: Podcasting Comes to Wickenburg”) and …

The Wrath of the Hassayampa

Heavy rains caused flooding all along the Hassayampa River this past weekend. Watching the floodwaters take away homes and part of Jack Burden Road seemed a more popular pasttime than visiting the carnival at Gold Rush Days. At least that’s how the Phoenix TV crews looked at it. They all sent helicopters up to get footage of the damage and not a single one showed the festivities going on right across the …
